starting again

dsc00138.jpgWhen I lose my way I have a tendency to revert to the tried and tested, but relief is always short-lived. The real value of losing my way lies in the hope of finding an exciting new path, and of overcoming the fear of further failure. Rather than following the well trodden path, trying to fit my footsteps into the smooth passage created by others I need to find my own way.

I’ll begin by collecting random snippets of self knowledge –  the sorting can come later….

  • I love stories and their telling
  • I like to use metaphor, mixing them to my heart’s content
  • I dislike machine sewing… it makes me physically and emotionally stiff
  • I love hand-sewing
  • I don’t like symmetry
  • I’m constantly trying to balance, and when it feels close I like to knock it out of kilter
  • I like to feel that I could bring the bigger picture into focus if I so chose, but I prefer it to stay in the background.
